Seek urgent in-person help now if there is
•
Immediate risk of suicide, self-harm or harm to another person
•
Severe agitation, violence, confusion, disorientation or loss of contact with reality
•
Severe alcohol or drug withdrawal, seizure, collapse or medical instability
•
Inability to eat, drink, care for basic needs or remain safely supervised
•
A rapidly worsening condition where waiting for an online appointment may be unsafe
What to do
Call the local emergency number, go to the nearest emergency department, or ask a trusted person to help you reach urgent care. Do not leave a person at immediate risk alone. If safe, take current medicines, prescriptions and identification with you.
India
India’s national emergency response number is 112. Availability and the most appropriate local service can vary; a nearby hospital emergency department is often the clearest option for an immediate psychiatric or medical crisis.
